BEING HONEST MAY NOT GET YOU A LOT OF FRIENDS, BUT
IT’LL ALWAYS GET YOU THE RIGHT ONES.
— JOHN LENNON
We should never lie to our friends, but we should also never lie in order to impress our friends or make new ones. For example, you should not pretend to like baseball just because someone else does. More importantly, you should never act in a way that makes you feel like you are being dishonest to yourself just because you think someone else will like it.
Ask Your Students:
1. Are you honest with your friends?
2. Do you think your friends would ever want you to be dishonest?
3. What do you think would happen if you were dishonest with them?
4. Look at a friend in this class right now and tell them a nice, honest thing that you like about them.
